SUSTAINABILITY INTENTIONS

Fashion often has a questionable aesthetic appearance, which is artificially generated by seasonal trends and encouraging to consume by shopping. AESENS STUDIO, on the other hand, strives to create high-quality, tasteful products that are functional, versatile and long-lasting. Our mission is to help you giving timeless classic pieces and offer you an alternative to make a conscious choice.

We use organic and recycled materials only in both products and packaging as much as possible. We take sustainability seriously, all of our products are made using mainly or entirely organic cotton.
Organic cotton comes from seeds that have not been genetically modified (non-GMO) and have not been treated with pesticides and insecticides during their cultivation. This prevents these chemicals from entering the soil, rivers, lakes or the sea. Organic cotton production uses natural methods, such as crop rotation, which not only benefit the soil, wildlife and the environment, but also create biodiversity and promote good health and quality of life for farmers and their communities. It has 26% less potential for soil erosion. Organic cotton represents only 0.9% of the 26 million tonnes of cotton produced annually.

Water is one of our most valuable natural resources and one of the conditions of life on Earth. Fashion industry is the second-largest consumer of water worldwide. It takes about 2700 liters of water to produce one cotton shirt. Organic cotton cultivation has 91% less surface and groundwater use, also 70% less acidification of land and water.

P4 CONCEPT

PRODUCT
85% of all textiles go to the dump each year. The equivalent of one garbage truck full of clothes is burned or dumped in a landfill every second. By conscious material selection and timeless design, we ensure long-term wearability of our products. Our garments are made using 100% ring-spun combed organic cotton and recycled polyester blended organic cotton fabrics. We pay attention to the smallest details, our polo buttons are made of Troca shells, even all of our care labels are made of pure cotton.

PACKAGING
No petroleum-based plastics are used in our packaging materials. All shipping boxes are made out of at least 90% recycled cardboard and they are also fully recyclable, they are biodegradable, compostable and made from paper pulp that's sourced from responsibly managed forests and mills.

PRODUCTION
We strive for carefully selected suppliers and manufacturers with Fair Wear, GOTS, GRS, OCSOEKO-TEX and other certifications by various independent bodies and standards. This ensures that we source our products from places that meet our highest environmental awareness expectations.

PLANET
Fashion business is the second most polluting industry in the world, produces 10% of all humanity's carbon emissions. Organic cotton has 46% less impact on global warming. At this moment, carbon footprint of our garments cannot be calculated entirely, lots of factors are involved, such as the region of cotton origin, the product color and manufacturing location. According to estimation there is around 0.3 kg CO2 emission during each of our garment piece manufacturing. Considering that an average young tree can absorb about 5.9 kg CO2 each years, with planting one sapling per garment we can quickly compensate our greenhouse gas emission. In association with Ecologi, we plant one tree with the purchase of each products to reduce our carbon footprint. Follow the development of the forest we are building together with you.

At AESENS STUDIO, we believe that these are important first steps towards a conscious ecosystem, but we don’t stop here, we strive to keep evolving to make our garments in the future even more sustainable.
